INSTRUCTIONS

Final Project

For the Final Project, I created the character Kuromi in 3D using Blender. Kuromi is my favourite character, especially among the Sanrio characters. This is due to her colours, aesthetics and personality. Kuromi is the polar opposite of another popular Sanrio character - Melody. Unlike My Melody, she tends to do mischievous things and prank others.

REFLECTIONS

Experience

I had a good experience doing the Final Project. This is due to me choosing a character I really like to 3D model. However, I did encounter new challenges during the process. Even though I had already observed Mr Kamal in class on how he connected the body with the legs, I still struggled with it and in the end, it did not come out the way I expected it too. Nevertheless, I am still proud of my work.

Observation
I observed that creating organic shapes is something I should practice more since many characters are modelled using organic shapes rather than polygonal objects. Since I want to be a good character designer, I believe this is something I should get used to and get better at.

Findings
I found many tips and tricks on making this final project less of a workload than it already is. I found how to make shapes symmetrical so that I would only need to edit one side of the model. Moreover, I found that with effort and time management, I can complete my work on time. It was difficult to do this project when I was sick but I managed and produced the type of work that I not only enjoyed creating but loved the experience gained.
